One day after finishing my everyday, go-through-the-motions quiet time, I began to pray a prayer that was much like my quiet time. Then I realized what I was doing. God loved me and died for me and was listening carefully to everything I prayed and I wasn't even stopping long enough to listen to Him. I was just reading my chapter asking Him to bless me and my family and was done. That was just another thing to check off my list. Then it hit me. God never checks us off His list once He listens to our prayers. He commits to us 24/7. I realized that that God was calling me to do something so simple. "Listen".  That was all. He only wanted me to listen. I did and He revealed sins to me that I had not even realized I had done. That day God helped me to see how much He cares. I re-dedicated my life to Him and I was extremely blessed. Only because that day when God spoke I decided to listen. So be ready! If you are open to God's will He will speak.
