Violet Travilla: Her Struggles & Strengths

Being a teenager is no easy task, no matter what century you live in!

Even though Violet grows up in the Victorian era, at heart she is an ordinary teenager. She dreams about her future and wants to know her destiny and calling from God. She is going through new emotions, such as self-doubt, guilt, frustrations, insecurities, and unexplainable emotional highs and lows. Like all teens, she faces challenges that will test her faith and shape her character. She must learn how to deal with the growing pains of growing up.

Growing up is certainly exciting, but with it come challenges and changes that can sometimes make life uncomfortable and unnerving. For Violet Travilla, these and other issues are unavoidable. So when the storms of life hit, how does Vi make it through?

Simply put, she trusts in the anchor of God's Word, hangs on to her steadfast faith, and presses in to her family for support.

When Vi is confronted with a problem, be it an internal struggle with herself or a circumstance out of her control, she listens to the voice of her conscience, but more importantly, she seeks to align her thoughts, actions, and feelings with the truths and promises in the Bible. While it might take her a while, she ultimately shares her questions and pain with those she loves and trusts.
